Three men with big ideas changed the fate of Tampa forever. Gavino Gutierrez, Vicente Martinez Ybor, and Ignacio Haya immigrated to Tampa from 1832-1868. The neighborhood has been designated as a National Historic Landmark District and several structures in the area are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
