The Tampa Heights neighborhood is National Historic District and is considered to be Tampa’s first suburb (1 mile from downtown) when it was established in the 1880s. There are still many homes and buildings throughout the neighborhood that go back to its roots. Today’s Tampa Heights is quickly changing with recent additions of Ulele Restaurant and Brewery, Water Works Park, Riverwalk Extension, Hidden Springs Brewery, and many other businesses that are opening in the neighborhood on a regular basis. Tampa Heights has long been a diverse vibrant neighborhood. It’s proximity to Tampa’s urban core allows its residents to easily work and play in Tampa Heights as well as Downtown Tampa, Ybor City, and Seminole Heights. Tampa Heights is a community rich in history of Tampa’s early settlers. It is considered the First Suburb of Tampa. Being so close to the urban core, Tampa Heights has attracted a wonderful variety of people and we are very proud of this as it is one of our most cherished strengths. Tampa Heights will see a dramatic shift in commercial development and transportation improvement in the next few years. Businesses are repopulating our major corridors and plans to diversify transit options are underway.
