Apollo Beach SINGLE FAMILY Homes

Apollo Beach

Located in southern Hillsborough County, 17 miles south of Tampa and 25 miles north of Bradenton, the community that would become Apollo Beach was originally farm land. In the 1930’s, Paul Dickman conceived the idea of turning it into a waterfront community, and plans were developed to create a subdivision including roads, canals, schools, recreation areas and community services. Since that time the property has evolved through several owners and names. In 1958, the wife of then owner Francis Corr suggested the name “Apollo Beach” for the area’s greatest benefit --sunshine. Today Apollo Beach is a thriving waterfront community with year-round boating, fishing, and other water activities. It has an area of 22.28 square miles, and an estimated 55 miles (89 km) of canals leading to Tampa Bay. Single family homes, townhomes and vacant land are available here. Designated an unincorporated census designated place, its population was 15,440 as of 2014. Apollo Beach neighborhoods include Caribbean Isles, Island Walk Phase 1, Island Walk Phase 2 and Island Walk. Attractions include the Manatee Area, Apollo Beach Nature Preserve, Apollo Beach Skate Park, Tampa Fishing Academy, Apollo Beach Golf Club.
